January 16 - 19, 2009 - What an absolutely incredible time in Pigeon Forge. Thanks to Hueytown and the crew for allowing us to join you on your Winter Youth Retreat. Needless to say, this was one memorial event. We were obviously being attacked while trying to make it to this retreat, as well as all the way through the weekend. From just B2Ts perspective, our very lives were at one time in danger and our equipment was flooded...yes, flooded! First off, thanks Jason!!! He hooked us up with a beautiful cabin in the mountains. After arriving Friday, setting up our equipment and getting a sound check, we left the conference building to go to our cabin. That's when the entire band, riding in a borrowed Expedition, slid on a patch of black ice down a quaint little road on the side of the mountain. It was lovely looking down the cliff as it came into such close view!!! PRAISE GOD!!...we just glided down, made a perfect 180 and remained on the road. (...this whole time our pastor (Justin) and his wife (Tammy) were helplessly watching from a side road.) The rest of the trip to the cabin was rather quiet with everyone in shock. Our first service Saturday morning was great. Everybody, including B2T, was tired and took a bit to wake up. But, Justin preached an awesome message that just kick-started our day!
Later that evening, we decided to get a sound check before eating with the crew. As we walked into the conference building, we could hear the sound of water running - loudly! When we turned the lights on, there was a steady flow of water running across the center of the room where all our sound equipment was set up. Turns out, a water main had burst during the night and filled the back rooms with water. Needless to say, the conference rooms were flooded. Yet again - PRAISE GOD!!!...none of our equipment was damaged. We relocated everything to the other side of the room and got ready for service. What an AWESOME movement of the Holy Spirit!!! Lives were changed, souls saved and wounds healed!!!! I cannot begin to explain the power that we were allowed to witness in this moment in time. After this service, the attacks didn't matter. The journey home was fun...it started snowing sometime during the night and the roads were beginning to ice. We managed to get our trailer down the mountain before the roads began to freeze. It snowed (blizzard) the entire trip home. What a weekend!!!
